Could you tell us a little about yourself and your role at Ramsay Health Care? 

My name is Manuela Nanga Foka, and I’m a project manager with a group called Ramsay Health Care. I’m in charge of a team of project managers who deploy all the tools used by our staff, both administrative and nursing.

Could you tell us about the challenges facing Ramsay Health Care?

We recently deployed a new tool for managing patient admissions and billing stays, replacing an older system. This project included development to standardize processes across our 66 sites over 30 months.

How did you manage the time issue? 

Faced with the challenge of rolling out this tool to 66 sites in just 30 months, we adopted a highly structured, industrial approach. We provided face-to-face training for our staff, set up learning modes for ongoing training and knowledge maintenance, as well as an e-learning program specifically designed for managers. This strategy enabled us to meet the project’s requirements while respecting the tight deadlines.

Why did you opt for face-to-face training for certain courses, despite the e-learning alternatives ?

Face-to-face training was crucial for communicating the changes in our work processes. Given the intensive and continuous use of our tools, particularly in emergency situations, exclusively online training would have been insufficient. Face-to-face training provided a deep understanding of the new methods, while digital tools served as a complement to maintain knowledge.
